TWAS April 18

Dear families,

Today we watched a funny video! Harmony is the songwriter who wrote our mummification song with Ms. Burland, Mrs. Shabaga, Mr. B and Mrs. Waters. She emailed Ms. Burland a new version of the song! She jazzed up the tune and created a video starring a puppet! She called it, "Die Like An Egyptian." She posted it on youtube, so check it out! We sure did and it was AWESOME and hilarious!!
Die Like an Egyptian

After recess, Ms. Burland played the song that Harmony wrote with the other teachers called Vowels. It's about vowel sounds- A, E, I, O and U. Vowels make two different sounds, a long sound and a short sound. A long sound is easy to remember because it says it's name (ex. cake). A short sound is harder to remember. We like to think of the the words: cat, bed, pig, sock and cup to remember short vowel sounds. Those are the headings we use in Word Study when practicing short vowels. It is a really catchy song and it gets you moving!

Oops, there's the bell! We are off to gym!
