This morning we looked at landscape pictures from Egypt. They inspired us to make some art about the desert in Egypt. Mrs. McWillaims shared with us a story about how she rode a camel in the Sahara Desert in Africa. She saw the sunrise and said it looked like a ball of fire! She used words like, "Spectacular" and "Wonderful" to describe her adventure.
To make our art we: started with watercolours. We painted the sunrise using red, orange and yellow.
Then we cut sandpaper with wavy lines to show the sand dunes of the desert. This made our mid-ground. We swap the extra piece of sand paper with a partner who had a different shade. This wavy piece became the foreground. We then glued on a camel! Take a look:
The hockey kids will be back after recess. We will see you tomorrow night or Friday morning for conferences!! Look for our reports cards coming home today!
