I am often asked, "What time is it?", "When is ________?" or "How long until _______?" Well, when a few ladies of the class asked to learn how to tell time, I was something I could not turn down! Although it is an outcome of the grade 4 math curriculum, it is an important life skill, even in our technological age! Been the end of June, it is a perfect time to dig into a fun mini unit! We began with an interactive website, with mini-lessons and check-ups after each. We then took done our classroom clock to examine.
Today we reviewed how to identify the hands and how they often move, how to read hours and then minutes. We then played a couple of interactive games on the SMART board and whizzed through a review worksheet. Finally, we made our own special clocks! Here are the finished products:
