We started off with parachute games.
It was a TAD sweltering in the parachute.
We cut through the school on the way to the next station, stopping for a moment to cool down and hydrate. Students discovered that the floor was cool.
Out in the front, we played with bubbles, showed off our skipping skills (well, I didn't) and got inked up with temporary tattoos.
Luke, I am your father!
Next, we headed to off to test how far we could kick! 100ft anyone? GOAL!
Grace, winding up to kick as far as she can... and she hit me!!
The amazing Mrs. McWilliams!
Here was the station everyone was waiting for: sponge tag, ie. drench everyone as much as you can with ice cold water! No one is off limits, even me! I don't think the pictures do justice to exactly how wet we are- imagine showering with your clothes on. That pretty much sums this station up.
We actually appreciated the clouds and some relief from the heat.
The Watermelon Wiggle: a juicy snack and a dance party!
Buddies!
My dance off opponent!
TEAM 24
Ladies!
Gents
Students discovered that the cone could be used to funnel the water in the small opening of the jug. Good thinking!
Dancing diva!
The final station was a relay race.
Hopping on his knees
Cheering their team on
Coach Leland, running along side each and everyone of his team members, cheering them on and guiding them through the route. Way to go, Leland!
I LOVE this picture!
Overall, a fantastic afternoon. Thank you to the high school students who volunteered and ran each station. Thank you to families who sent their child prepared for the heat :) Much appreciated!
