Housekeeping Items

Team 24,

1) Dress for OUTDOOR recess EVERYDAY
The weather is a fickle thing these days. Please send your child with ALL the necessary outdoor clothing for outdoor recess everyday. The temperature often improves through out the day or the wind dies down, taking away the harsh windchill. Please do not assume it is indoor recess just because it's cold in the morning or because the forecast is calling for cold weather. Mrs. Shand checks the forecast before each recess to get the most accurate temperatures.

Some students are coming in with wet pants or socks from playing in the snow hills. This makes for an uncomfortable time in the classroom. In addition, students often go tobogganing for gym class down the front hill. Without ski pants, students are coming in covered in snow. Students should all have winter boots, ski pants, a toque, mittens and a scarf. Please let us know if you need help acquiring these items. An extra set of mitts or pair of socks left in your child's bin is also a great idea.

2) Musical field trip
Students should have brought home permission forms today (Wednesday) for our trip to see the Divisional Musical! There is no cost, but a signed form is necessary for your child to participate.

3) Safety with Liquids Homework
I have explained the homework to students and stressed that they are to search for hazardous symbols WITH an adult, for their safety. Of course, they should not smell, touch or drink any of the liquids. Don't forget to check the garage for these symbols! If you can not find an example of each symbol, no worries. The experience of participating in this activity with you is the most important part :)
