Final Swimming Lesson, Trip to the Bazaar & Santa in Pyjamas= A Team 24 Tuesday

Dear Team 24 families,

A busy, busy Tuesday! And early dismissal to boot!

Highlights:

1) Grade 3s traveled to the Civic Centre for the final time. Students had another great lesson and finished their time in the pool playing whole-group games! Students played Marco Polo- the classic swimming tag game and Shark. "MARCO!" "POLO!!"

2) We were very excited to visit the Bazaar today. Students were able to use the money they brought to purchase 3 items today as Christmas gifts for their family members. It means so much to each student to be able to give to their family! There is one more shopping day tomorrow, Wednesday. We will do our best to wrap as many gifts as we can. If any families are able to donate wrapping paper or Scotch tape for wrapping, it would be greatly appreciated!

Sadly, we had $5 stolen from a student's change purse, intended for the Bazaar. After two discussions about trust and doing the right thing when we make a mistake, students were encouraged to return the money to an adult during our shopping trip. While they didn't hand it to an adult,  the student anonymously left the money on a bazaar table while we were shopping. We will have a follow-up discussion about this tomorrow.

3) Team 24 also made a special holiday art piece in which we imagined how Santa would be feeling the morning after Christmas. Using scrapbooking paper, we made pyjamas for our happy Santas. Here is a look at our new bulletin board.

As I said, a busy day. And what's on deck for Wednesday: a choir performance at Golden West, a second and final trip to the bazaar and hockey. Whew, I'll be ready to sleep for a week if I survive this week!

~Ms. Burland
